Ben, is this as a result of that poll you held a while back about people's monitor resolutions ? Is the old 800 pixel width rule now gone in favour of 1024 ? Most welcome if thats the case !

Hi Paul,
Not directly as a result of the poll, but the 800 rule has been changed to 1024. Hopefully it will make things better for many of us.

Great news for me as I always save my screenshots at 1024 pix (for avsim) and would like to post more here.

That's the main reason for the size increase Brian
Seriously.. for a while at least.. I've noticed 'now' (could be IE8) that larger size pics are showing with scroll bars so if your monitor isn't either widescreen or 'hi-res', it doesn't bugger the forum page up as it once did. Had this always been the case, we'd have had little objection in allowing higher res.

The native res of my 19" Hansol CRT is 1152x864 at some ridiculously low refresh (60hz) and 1024 would have had me scrolling the page rather than the picture. It's surprising how annoying that is

Hi Dave
I get the scroll bars but only on what was Mum's laptop which has a later version of things than the others.
On the machine I usually use it does give problems
Perhaps we could go to 800 wide and 2048 deep for Brian winglets
