May your accumulated knowledge come easily to mind as needed, Paul.
Luck has little to do with it.

The scene: A well known Dublin pub. Enter a well-known airline CEO.
Good morning Mr O'Leary, what can I get you?
A pint of Guinness' please.
That will be 5 Euros sir.
That's a very good price!
We like to think so sir - now will you be wanting a glass for your pint?

Excellent Mike.
Paul, really hope that you pass your FAA mock and actual IR Rating. I have watched a number of YouTube Videos of pilots flying single engine aircraft in the States flying IFR and the one thing that really sticks in my mind is that over there the air-spaces are busy, very busy and trying to keep up with flight clearances whilst on the ground and in the air let alone sudden flight plan diversions by ATC is, probably because of me age, quite difficult.
So really do wish you all the best my friend.
Regards
Nigel.
As an aside, years spent flying VORs and ILS on flight Sim has made this a whole lot easier. Its amazing how real you can make it at home-- a big help when it came to this.

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
