Flight in a Junkers Ju-52 (now with link to video)

Photos from a 1hr round trip from Dübendorf in "Tante Ju" (Auntie Ju) reg. HB-HOP. This was a collective present from my colleagues from last year's birthday and was already postponed once from April due to the weather. No such problems today. Video to follow once I work out how to not make Windows Movie Maker crash.

Parked back outside the amusingly named "Flab" museum. Flab is what the Swiss call "Flak" (Fliegerabwehrkanone)

At first glance I thought the bird images on the wings were oil streaks from the engines. Need to get my eyes checked. Looks like you had a great time Toby. Thanks very much for sharing the pics!

Nice to see you weren't made to parachute out and invade someone with that terrain below

Nice shots Toby ;)

Thanks Toby,
Like me, you blaze away with the camera and return without any evidence of your own presence!
They were using "Real World" scenery too - bonus!
Intrigued by the Flack museum, what's inside? They had plenty to choose from, with all those aircraft they interned 39/45.

I'm the guy in the white t-shirt in pic 21. I have a couple of others but didn't think they'd be of interest here!

FLAB museum has two halls. The first one contains mostly propeller driven aircraft, some German, some Swiss and a couple of simulators. The second hall has a very high percentage of British content (Venom, Vampire, Hunter, RR Engines etc) plus a couple of home-grown attempts at a Jet fighter and a Mirage or 2.

Way back in the eighties I remember when the first restored JU-52 was on finals for LGW, the Tower cleared a BCAL One-Eleven to

"Line up and hold after the landing Junkers".

Quick as a flash someone on frequency said

"Cor- you don't hear that very often these days!"
