Texture issues

Hi guys,

This is my first post on Classic British Flight Sim and it concerns the BAC 1-11 and the Trident. They're lovely aircraft, but they're slightly ruined for me by parts of the VC showing up as black - stuff like the speedbrake, throttle and flap levers as well as the general surroundings in the cockpit, ie the seats and everything apart from the overhead, radios and instruments. As you've probably guessed already, i'm running them in FSX and I haven't really found a proper fix by tinkering and looking about online.

I have done all the necessary updates to the .cfg files to correct the differences in directories and everything is (as far as I know!) placed in the correct fsx folder.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sam

Hi Sam,

Welcome aboard! Were did you download it from? The only official download is on DM's website www.dmflightsim.co UK
If you download from there and follow the instructions all should be well. You will also find sections in the cfg files that have been commented out for FS9 use, but can be enabled for FSX. If you're still having problems, let us know and I'll check my config against yours.

All the best,

Hi Sam

It sounds like some textures missing from the '\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture' folder.
There should be a few with names starting '$DM' and there should be some .bmp files with names starting 'DM'.

If you haven't got them, they will be in the PANEL downloads at http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk
If it still doesn't work, I'd guess you've got an odd mix of older and newer versions. So probably best to download all the bits and start again.

Hi guys,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. David - your answer fixed it all - thanks! I am now going to go and fly the Trident much too much in celebration.

Once again - thanks!

Sam
