Thats a fantastic story, she looks incredibly authentic. Maybe DG could be tempted to update his Anson?

I think no flaps is normal Dave on many contemporary type, in the case of the Bristol 170 is was normal not to use flap and land on one stage unless it was a bit short then one for T/O and two for landing...a lot of natural low speed stable lift .

Don't blame them for modifying the undercarriage, the handle was the thing many remember about the type

Yes.. when I saw it going up, I thought.. either someone is cranking like a good'un or it's had the gear modded I've just looked at the Anson Mk1 PN's and yes, flaps are up for takeoff I guess you don't need them with these sort of figures..

Flying at low airspeeds: Flaps may be lowered 20deg and speed reduced to 85mph IAS/74kts when flying in bad visibility.
Stalling: The stalling speeds at light load are.. flaps+gear up.. 57mph IAS/50kts, flaps+gear down.. 48mph IAS/41kts.

At those speeds Dave you could put one of your electric motors and a battery pack in it and be off to the common Dave

Totally agree about the music Nev,but that problem frequently spoils video etc by drowning out the original audio.Nevertheless it is a magnificent achievement.If I recall correctly the Anson used Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah engines.Does anyone know if they managed to use these? EricT
