The First Flight Sim I Ever Had
I bought this for the BBCB...two sides of a music type cassette, one keyboard version the other for a joystick.
Believe it or not, this gave me hours of fun

Re: The Fist Flight Sim I Ever Had
That must be an enhanced version as I didn't have colour.
The waypoints were diamonds and the runways were rectangles.
It was really just instrument flying and the thing with this and other games of the time, unlike now we accepted them for what they were and got on with it. I used to go from Heathrow to Gatwick, my favourite place to crash
It's so good now we want it as real so it tends to be viewed not so much with what it has, like with this early attempt, but what it hasn't.

Re: The Fist Flight Sim I Ever Had
This was my first ever flightsim, for the mighty Sinclair QL.

IIRC there was a 737 sim in development, but that never saw the light of day. PSION actually did a flightsim for the ZX81, but I never got around to buying that, and I moved on the QL as soon as it was released.

I can't find any images of my first flight sim but here's a magazine advert for it. It was a rather clever IFR simulator. I vividly remember how the display would turn blood red, accompanied by an ambulance siren, when I'd crash.

Mine didn't do that...if it had, I would have known...frequently

My first flight sim was for the Sinclair Spectrum. We've come a long way in 20 odd years.

Re: The Fist Flight Sim I Ever Had
I could never afford the BBC B, I settled for a 16K Spectrum and had that Psion flight sim program on it. The Speccy died of melting when I left it plugged in overnight. Not having learned my lesson I upgraded to a 48K Speccy, which also melted.
