Air Malta relaunched their corporate design yesterday.
Very colourful - and this handwriting font adds a certain caribbean-ness to it...
Although as usual with new liveriess - I will have to get used to it...

I don't have the imagination to see the caribbean-ness of the fonts mate but it's a nice livery and suits Malta well

Why is it nowadays they have to have a re-branding and stand there clapping themselves.
Why not just introduce the new livery like they did in the past
Too much emphasis on image and promises of service that's often not met when in the past they concentrated on how the looked after their customers in the seats.
As if they're only interested in selling rather than interesting in giving the service.
Nice livery but the promotion is a waste of money.

I quote the article...
Air Malta's rebranding has cost €1.9 million, chief executive Peter Davies said this morning at a business breakfast marking the airline's newly-launched logo and livery. (...) The new rebranding exercise comes a week after Air Malta chairman Louis Farrugia announced losses at Air Malta of €30 million.
American haven't changed their livery since the 60s...
Cheers,
Nick

That's irony for you
As with many companies of any reasonable size, there's always the push to speculate to accumulate.. even in what looks like a poor time for them (Air Malta that is). Obviously, someone, somewhere, considers a new, fresh look worth the risk. 1.9million anything isn't a lot in the grand scale of things and even overall losses of E30.million isn't as bad as it may seem. OK.. I wouldn't like that debt.. I tend to work in pounds 'singular' so it's a lot to me

The last 'official' company I worked for (Eldridge Pope) ended up £43m in the red before they started to panic. A vast sum of that was used to standardize the B&B rooms they had along with all the associated marketing which was probably their downfall in the end. Big, corporate ideas in a company that was still firmly seated in the 60's

e30M is less than half the cost of an A.320 so not great
My point those is they should improve service so the punters flock to them rather than present image and promises that mean nothing.
They spend a fortune making themselves look important

I agree with that mate but I still think a lot has to do with the corporate mentality. A new fresh look equals.. new ideas.. new thinking.. better service etc etc. We all know that one doesn't necessarily follow the other but if I can use Eldridge Pope as an example again.. a lot of ex-Allied Domecq people went to EP when AD pulled the plug and with them went the corporate mentality. Our first boss (ex Allied as were we) couldn't believe EP had a marketing department that had never got close to spending it's budget. Marketing were the first to spend theirs in Allied

'Our lot' soon changed all that
I dunno when Air Malta last changed their livery so perhaps it was due for a facelift anyway

Didn't say how much it cost to feed the mselves? And I bet the model they're all grazing over cost a few thousand by itself?
I guess the paintjob is spiffy enough though.
