Hi Chaps,

Taken from the Lockheed Martin P3D forums...

http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2012/08/4026/
Hello Everyone,

We are excited to release Prepar3D 1.4 this Monday (8/20/12). Please see the news posting for more information about what is included: http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2012/08/4026/

We will be publishing release notes on the day of the release.

A handful of questions have been asked on the announcement asking if the full download is required and if they will need their license reactivated. Prepar3D 1.4 will require a full download (approximately 10 GB). There will be no upgrade patch (smaller download) for this release. We are looking to augment that in future versions, but due to various circumstances in Prepar3D 1.X we have be unable to release update patches. In regards to licensing, updating from a previous version 1.X to version 1.4 will not require the license to be reactivated if it is done on the same computer.

Let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to Monday.

Exactly Dave, I'm just glad its been released before I move house and have to move back to 6MB ADSL from 50MB cable!

there must be a hell of a lot in it if its 10GB. I'm sure 1.3 is only about 3.5 GB *-)

They are adding two new aircraft to v1.4, Lionheart Creation's Mooney Acclaim, and Iris' T-6 Texan II. There is also support for 6 monitors on one video card, apparently. That doesn't account for all the rest of the gigabytage, however. Its a bit of a pain to have to download it all, and do all the reinstallation, but at least it is development of the core simulator, and thats something we haven't seen for a long time. Go LM !

Just had a look at my V1.3 download files, & it was about 9.6gb, split over 3 files.

You're luck to have 50mb cable, my "broadband" is only 2.5mb (3mb if the wind is in the right direction  ) :wall:

May have to download it at work :worried:

You're spot on Dave, each file was about 3GB (bar the last one) :worried:

The Mooney Acclaim looks amazing. I've found a few screenies and it looks as though it's worth the cost of the license on it's own! It's got the Garmin 1000 glass cockpit which I covet.

Now that's the customer service ethic that Microsoft just didn't get and Lockheed Martin does.

I'm so tempted to purchase this. What do the smaller airports look like? I've seen the video but it doesn't show them. Are they simple airports (runways, taxiways, and tower) like in FSX? Does it also have cities like in FSX?

99% of the airports etc are the same as FSX. Don't know if v1.4 will improve on that.

That Mooney does look good. Lionheart has made it specifically for P3d, although he himself didn't think it had made it into v1.4 as he had last minute problems which meant he missed the deadline. Hopefully it was sorted and made it in.

If you haven't already seen it here is a link to a small program that gives P3D a start-up screen.
Just set the paths and it works like a dream!
