Lovely stuff, and a very appropriate plane for the area.

Cor - that's a bit basic, Peter! If you're going Bush flying you'd better have a bag of wrenches and a warm coat with you!

It's a lovely model, though. A2A certainly do a good job with their aircraft. I've just installed my older Carenado FSX C185 bush plane pack into P3D which gives me tundra tyres, skis and an amphibian. So don't think you'll escape me!

As you're at Sitka, does that mean you've got Tongass Fjords X installed now?

Ian :)

Hi Peter,

Looks like you're having fun. Does this mean you've jumped MS Fligh ship.

Also, any chance of a Mcleland outpost for P3D?

Joe

I think the MS Flight ship was scuttled beneath him, Joe

As for a McLeland Field II, I wonder if he's scouting for somewhere as we speak? He's already annexed Oregon, Washington, the Alaska panhandle and British Columbia and there's plenty of wilderness out there!

Eric - I don't think there's room for a bag of wenches in the cub. He might have to settle for one fat one

Ian :)

Yes well, they're a fine bunch of bullies aren't they? ... Taking a grown man's toy. .... the philistins :|

I'd be happy with a little outpost where I could pop in for a nip. ....

No I haven't finished with FLIGHT yet because I have yet to visit every SPB and Airfield in Alaska...I have to say that I prefer low flying in FLIGHT, it is way superior to low flying in P3D...Holger's Tongass Fjords somewhat redresses that situation but Pacific NorthWest definitely does not (low flying over an undulating photograph of hundreds of buildings, shown from vertically above, is a disgusting experience). It would look fine from a few thousand feet but not from where I like to fly. Naturally the frame rates are also near the knuckle in P3D and I have to pull the odd slider back to get it acceptable. These factors limit my field of operation in P3D to Holger's scenery and I will certainly continue to explore that.

Also, McLeland Field does exist in my P3D and I have done a few landings there. However, it is just the runway at the moment and intermittently buried as well, but I expect I will get around to doing something about that :)

I look forward to version 2 of P3D and hope they will do something about the horrible ATC radio GUI...I certainly don't like everything stopping while the ATC panel is on the screen. FS9 is far superior in that respect. Meanwhile, I'm playing with my Cub and wondering if I might fly it over to "Bandit Enterprises" for a bit of tuning.

Peter, I'm not getting the experience you relate in Pacific North West. Although the base is photographic the overwhelming majority of objects are 3D. Those that are not are mainly car parks, agricultural land and industrial sites but even these have 3D trees and some buildings. Have you opened FTX Central and ensured that North America is selected? Otherwise the scenery will be default P3D.

If you'd like to post a screenshot of a particular area that concerns you I could try to recreate it for comparison. You shouldn't really be getting a big frame rate hit, either. I think your machine is more powerful than my laptop and I am getting 35-45 FPS on the ground at some of FTX's detailed add-on airports with all sliders maxed.

Ian :)

Ian,

I'll get you a screenshot to show what I mean.

Another problem I have is the ocean around Sitka in Tongass Fjords is filled with pine trees...The problem is known and there is a file to fix it... Unfortunately the link to the file is missing in the Tongass Forum...This is an FSX problem but I have it in P3D as well *-)
