I'm not certain how this popped up in YouTube as a recommended video link, as I was watching a Radiohead video, but it's a very interesting bit on a BA 747 going through a D check. I found it fascinating not only because they show bits of the 74 one wouldn't normally see, but it shows how much effort is really involved in the checks.

It was also fascinating as I can listen to the Welsh accent pretty well all day. :) It's about an hour, but well worth it.

Thanks Chris

This was covered at the time it was shown on TV

I was puzzled about the claim it was a first time BA had allowed this as there was a documentary back in the eighties or early nineties called "A Tale OF Two Cities" covering a 747-200 that had just gone back into service after a major and one that went into the bay and was stripped right down. *-)
