I've been continuing my work on this in P3D and I've taken a few shots today to show progress:-

Marine Services is now back and it is just as well that it is built on stilts, as the water has moved back a bit in P3D.

The other shots can be seen here:-

Thanks for looking :fly:

What an amazing difference to the tumbleweed wasteland you showed us. I can smell sawdust in the air and the happy laughter of your construction team beavering away  I expect Nikki is wondering where you are as I suspect she hasn't seen you for a couple of days!

I honestly never thought I'd ever see you embark on a project like this outside of FS9. What a day of wonder, indeed

Please remind me where McLeland Field is situated. Is it within the Tongass Fjords scenery or is it in the default scenery area?

You may be interested in this post that Holger made yesterday on the ORBX forum about the upcoming Southern Alaska scenery that he's working on. I imagine that it will encompass the Tongass area and merge with Pacific Fjords as Tongass is marketed by FSAddon. Or possibly they will come to an arrangement, as they seem to have good relations, and the new scenery will lie to the north of Tongass.

I don't have it on this system Ian but you can see pretty much where it should be from this shot..

Peter did a fair amount of land reclamation.. nothing there as default ;)

Well in FS9 the next Holger scenery from and joining to Tongass Fjords was Glacier Bay and that came into and stopped at about McLeland Field, which is in the bay at the end of the Russell Fjord...Holger came to my rescue with a few files he made specially to get round the slight disruption that Glacier Bay made at McLeland Field. I don't think he ever made Glacier Bay for FSX, but that would have been very nice. So in FS9 my base is in Glacier Bay scenery but in FSX and P3D it is in the default scenery...You would probably not recognise it in your machine and my "Hell's Gate" ravine is only in my machine as I created it about a year ago, to ease a problem that the AI Cessnas were having with landings at Turf Green, which I was just building.

Nicci is away for a couple of days and back tomorrow...She was invited to sail on one of the Dunkirk Little Ships on their annual Thames cruise...So that is what she has been doing today!! She is a very determined Lady

Looks great Peter and I'm sure there is a tree set somewhere for FSX / P3D. I can't remember where I saw it for sure, but its likely it was fsdeveloper.com

Thanks Ben...I'll look around...I'm on a steepish learning curve at the moment with ADEX. It is a bit of a change from AFCAD but it took over my AFCAD bgl files without a problem and allowed me to pour water into my ravine, which I was unable to do in AFCAD. I did a bit of a study in Slartibartfast to get water in there, but I had a job to understand just exactly how to do it. Anyway ADEX seems very powerful and I expect I will use it to put in some Terminal Buildings etc.

There is a lot of good stuff out there Peter, and John from "Scruffy Duck" who is the driving force behind ADE is a lovely chap and always very helpful. As for buildings, there are a number of library bgl files containing all sorts of custom buildings, but its been so long since I've had the time to look at them, and I've forgotten where most of them are. Having said all that, a quick post at FS Developers will usually have you heading in the right direction, they are very helpful indeed.

For vector scenery, you need SBuilderX.
