Mountains, no bikes

Or tractors. Took a week to drive up to Glacier National Park in Montana, as well as a day's side trip to Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta. Ended up taking far too many pictures, as you do. Had to make due with a point and shoot as I realized about three hours after leaving home I left the good camera home. :((

These were all in the park proper - it's a breath-taking spot.

Me (on the left) and my housemate - the lake below really was that blue. The elevation difference between us and the lake was about 1100 feet at that point.

Felt kind of like a Hobbit on the way to Mordor this day...

Montana can be very flat too.

We drove this time around, but 13 hours each way is a fair hoof. Might have to fly out next time.

Thanks for looking,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Great photo's and fantastic scenery,

Someone is bound to say it so it might as well be me!

Any Close Encounters at the Devils Tower? ;)

Cheers,

Roger.

Thank goodness you didn't have your good camera, Chris. I'd have been in tears

I can't remember when I last saw photos that gave me such a longing to be there. Totally amazing scenery. I really envy you that trip and to my mind driving would make it even better because it would have given you a better feeling of distance.

It reminded me that I did see a bit of the Canadian Rockies a few years back when I drove to Banff from Calgary but I think your photos trump my memories of the mountains.

I'm sure you'll be going back with your good camera - just give me a bit of notice before posting the next set so that I don't get too much of a shock

Than you for posting those.

Ian :)
