I must be stupid or something, but I don't see the point. Why not just get a proper motorbike or at very least a moped? Can't be long before legislation catches up with a creation like this and certain demands placed upon the "cyclist" like insurance and licensing e.g.

I think they're kinda cool but I agree.. they do defeat the object a little. Someone, somewhere will want to impose insurance/road tax no doubt. That said.. any road tax should be free as they must be considered 'green' and thus, good for the planet

The bicycles themselves may be thought of as 'green' but from what I can gather the processes involved in producing the LiPo batteries it runs on are anything but 'green'. Lots of nasty chemicals and waste products involved apparently.

At 75 lbs in weight those bikes will give you a good workout after the batteries run out of juice.

.. and as we RC loonies know, LiPo's can burst into flame at the drop of a hat

Didn't realise they ran off LiPo's.. no sound on the laptop I watched the vids on and my lip reading isn't THAT good
You get one Joe. If I had one here.. I'd use it a darned sight more than I do the one with pedals only!

Ain't buying a complete bike mate. I'm buying the kit and installing it on my Raleigh.
With the 500 watt brushles and two li-po's it'll weight about 75lbs and give me a 40 mile range.
No peddling required. And no gas. And I can recharge at destination, and if a problem does arise.
I can peddle it or pick it up and put it on a Palm Tran bus.
Do that with your "proper" motor sickle scotters slash mopeds.
Ha.

Joe, make sure you're wearing the proper cycling attire when you ride.
