WIP into Autumn...

As I carry on working on my ravine, the changing season makes me wonder if there should be quite so much Autumnal colour in these pine trees. However, it is very pretty!

I think you have American Larch trees there, Peter. A surreptitious google tells me that they are a deciduous conifer and common in parts of Alaska and British Columbia. The needles turn golden in late fall, leaving the tree bare during the winter and new green needles grow in the Spring. So enjoy it while it lasts! I found this picture on the web:
On the other hand, the shape of some of them suggest Aspens

...
The ravine is looking magnificent. I like those water plants - along with the reflections it makes it look very attractive.

Thank you Ian...American Larch...Well I'm reassured. I did think they looked a little broad leafed. The water plants and rocks I borrowed from ORBX's Longview Ranch...There are a couple of butterflies visible in that picture from the same source.
So I guess I can expect all the American Larch to go bald in the winter. The reeds, I have to control myself but it will not be by the "Object Flow" system...There are two objects available for each Reed and the change from one to the other occurs in one month and back again in a different month. I will make two BGL files and use a Batch file to switch from one to the other...I will also automate it for each computer boot up so that will link the changes to Real Season as opposed to P3D sim season. But I will also have a desktop icon to make the switch in case I wish to fly in P3D in a different season from the Real Season.
Thank you again for the very informative reply

I changed my mind about the tree screens for the fighter dispersals, but I replaced them with ORBX trees rather than the original Garrish Grey's trees, which don't work so well in FSX/P3D.

I can land and take-off the Beaver in the Ravine now, so I will keep it here

It's looking gorgeous, Peter. Will it freeze during the winter? And have you found a way of importing the ORBX People and creature Flow? Although I doubt that there are any suitable for an Alaskan winter. (Eskimos, wolves, elks?

)
I think this new McLeland Field is going to be quite something but it looks like a great deal of work.

Yes Ian...I have the people, ducks, horse and butterflies and they all fly or animate as they did elsewhere (OG39). The flow I control in a different way from ORBX...I control what shows in which months in the same way as I control the cruise ships that anchor in the bay on different days of the week...Basically it involves having a set of BGL files with one for each day or month or group of months and all but the correct one are disabled...This is done at computer boot up by a Batch file and that sets everything for the REAL time...If I want to override that to run the Sim at a different time or season from the REAL one then I use a desktop icon to set my choice and then things work on SIM time and season
I don't know if it will freeze in the winter in P3D...It will be interesting to find out...The larches will lose their leaves at the end of this month and will sprout leaves again in April. Also at the end of this month the trees get snow on them...I'll keep an eye on the water!

You really are very clever! I mean, I knew that anyway but you just reminded me! I look forward to seeing all this come to life over the next few months!
