Flying Stations Sortie Report

I thought I'd pop a report of my training sortie on. It's the Flying Stations Buccaneer S1. Fantastic Aircraft if you haven't already got it.
A practice strike on Prestwick was the objective using both radar and TACAN offsets. Planned on a 1:500000 aviation chart, we left Lossiemouth, entered Loch Ness over Inverness and made our way down at low level.

The first fix was visual upon exiting at the west end, and the route went down the Sound of Jura, looking for a radar fix off the southern tip of Gigha Island

The radar was adjusted to get the island in view and compared with the chart to ID it.

The radar was locked onto this and a turning point was createdwith an offset of 225 degrees at 12nm to line up for a route through a break in the hills over Campbelltown.

After turning over this point, the second offset, creating an IP was fed in, 132 degrees at 23nm. This took the aircraft though a gap in hills and to the IP.

The fix over Prestwick was found by offsetting Turnberry VOR at 34 degrees and 13.5nm (obtained from a Pooley's Guide)
The HSI was set for that and in we went. Poor weather making it a test and what do you know???

Bob's your uncle!
Thoroughly enjoyable flight, and great fun working the back seat gear
