Sad, but it was always on the cards when they cattled the two engines by leaving the dry ice bags in. :(

Well, when I heard the announcement of today's statement yesterday I feared the worst; that last week's mini tour would have turned out to be its last flight. 5 or 6 years was always going to be the likely figure, and we can't complain that we've had the extra years we have had. :)

Do you think that once the Canberras back in the air that will be 558s replacement.

There were two Canberra's flying not that long ago, but you can't replace a Vulcan, and I don't think there is the money about to do it these days. I think its had its time, and for those that are lucky enough to have seen her over the past 6 years its been very worthwhile.

I was able to stick my head & shoulders inside one at Avalon, for a couple of photos. Didn't realise how rare Canberras are.

Not an unexpected announcement - Robert Pleming said during the summer that 2013 was likely to be her final year in the air. I'm just glad I got to see her do a display. :)

Are they really that mullered? It's a shame that it's just money that will ground it, it's not like it's falling apart :-(
