You can buy it now for that price

Just think of it as a small stage in the process of getting Superb back in the air 8)

I think it's more a case of the air getting into Superb than the other way round mate

Were I foolish enough to buy it, I'd most certainly be wearing it in short order so reluctantly, I'll pass

Look positive

The the engines and airframe are shot...but you can get a rigging bar....that's a good start :cpu:

Just think of all the people around the World that would have put the Vanguard stored in their shed back in the air if they could only have got their hands on a rigging bar :)

Well..OK maybe not many....but.....

That's nothing - last week on eBay there was a 737-200 MLG complete with wheels for only £12.50.

When I was an Airframe Mech in the RAF, we were still known as Riggers. Never had a rigging bar in my toolkit though. Mind you, it would have been a hell of a job on the Hastings.

When I left in 1960, I went to work at Fairoaks. There were several Tiger Moths on the Flying Club side, and I worked with an old chap who taught me the intricacies of rigging. More than one one board/bar is required, and spirit levels, and asprins. Dihedral turnbuckles give you headaches. Happy days!

511 Flyer - out of interest did you work with Mann Aviation, or with the flying Club at Fairoaks?

Hi Keith. Back then, it was Universal Flying Services. The flying club was part of the group. Also had chippies. Many different types were hangared there, owned by some very well known people.

Due to the poor wages, and having a new wife to support, I left for Vickers at Weybridge. Worked in the VC10 wingshop. After a year, I left for Heathrow and Cunard Eagle. Gradually drifted away from aviation related work.

Dennis.
