What a fantastic collection Paul
Thanks for that.
Some real rarities in there like pics of Viscounts G-AOHP,'OHU,'ORC that were early write offs and Superfreighter G-AMLP in the first BUA Superfreighter livery only worn by a handful of aircraft quickly painted before it was changed. Photos are rare. Also G-AHJI a Mk.21 in full BUA livery painted for one season only. Superfreighter G-APAU joined Silver City from Channel Air Bridge in May 1962 to replace G-ANWL lost at Guernsey the previous November. CAB no doubt could spare is as the Carvair was entering service. At the end of that year Silver City was no more having been taken over and merged with CAB to form BUAF. Pics of 'AU in SCA livery are like hens teeth.
Many Viking's show rare variations...take the Martins Air Charter for example

You're welcome Garry.
I've got to say I am surprise at the apparent lack of interest shown here for these collections.

Hi Paul
I think the interest is there, maybe it's just that not everyone says so...thanks again

No lack of enthusiasm here - just loads of memories of Vikings at Blackbushe, Hermes, not to mention my uncles Speed Six, My fathers Proctor, Derby airways Marathons etc......

Very close to many NOT here too mate

I've just heard back from one of the Vanguard crew and he needed a tissue to dry his eyes

A LOT of the Dak's and York's he worked on as a young chap in the late 40's. He never worked on the LAC Halibags.. only when new for BOAC
Talking of LAC Halibags.. those are the clearest B&W shots I've seen of that livery. I'm going to have to check my reference shots but I'm sure they showed the cheatline as a single, solid entity. Those shots show it as two thin lines. That might mean the Halifax paints I did are not.. right

Thanks for posting the collections. I spent a good part of the day looking at as many as possible using the slideshow feature.
