Goodwood was promised as the first add-on airport for a simultaneous release but there's a delay on that.

Remind me what the benefit of this is over Horizon VFR v3?
Are we talking England wide Gen Ex scenery?

I'm really not sure what advatages there are over GenXv3.. over v2 or v1 for that matter. I think this is mainly aimed at folk who don't have GenX or any other terrain mapping/texture sets for the UK. It looks very nice but having GenXv2.. I won't be discarding it just for the sake of having something new

The difference is that this isn't flat
Whether I get it depends on a) price and b) whether I have to mess about setting stuff before starting FSX.
I have UTX Europe, GEX Europe and REXE, which make for very convincing scenery. Of course the houses are not in exactly the right places with UTX and the rivers and roads, which are correct position-wise, are often too wide or narrow compared to their real counterparts (i.e. a back lane in RL can be like an autobahn in UTX).
This is supposedly all correct - but I expect it will cost a bob or two.

I strongly recommend looking through the screenshots at the bottom

A lot of people seem to be wetting themselves over this
While I think it's a massive improvement over the default terrain / landclass, I'm going to be sticking with GenX + Treescapes.
Saying that, I may get it for P3D
The price is apparently £26.88 (converted from Aus $) & download size is just over 3 gig.
Not bad price-wise. That is just England though, not the rest of the UK.

I know I keep on about it, but ... you can download a demo area of either/and the whole of Tasmania or the Olympic Peninsula to see how FTX scenery performs on your machine before parting with your money.
There's a choice of FSX or P3D demos. PNW is highly recommended as it contains a highly detailed payware quality airport.

I'm definitely
not wetting myself over this ... I haven't dried out yet from the Pacific North West yet and I'm dribbling a bit about the Central Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone Park with geysers and bushfires.
Ooops. Oh dear. Fresh underpants again, please, mum

I'm not quite sure what J0hn means about the difference being 'it's not flat'. GenX isn't flat either although runways at airports e t c conform to the 'norm' in that
they're flat which of course, very few runways are in real life. Is this the difference?

Be good if they did a demo area of the UK, say the Isle of Wight or something similar.
I have got both the demos they offer. They both look good, but as I have no idea what the area in question is supposed to look like in "real life" I can't really comment on the accuracy of it.
I
do know what England is supposed to look like

I think John means the fact that it has full autogen building and trees etc, and not just a flat photo.
