Prepar3d is missing!

There are reports on the Avsim forum that the official Prepar3d site is down. That wouldn't be a concern in itself (despite it being part of a major defence industry!).
Of more concern is that somebody reports that on the Lockheed Martin main page, Prepar3d was listed under 'What We Do'. But now it isn't listed ...
May I be the first to say 'I told you so!'?

Or, hopefully, not

Sunday is the day most large enterprises do their system change, my guess is its some sort of maintenance period.

You always spoil a good scaremongering with your logic and common sense and facts. Where's your sense of the dramatic?
I've still got a bad feeling about this ....

Maybe Prepar3d will soon be available as abandonware.

You can still ping their server.

Or maybe Lockheed Martin has placed the website...in stealth mode.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
when ye shall see backward compatibility dropped entirely.

Nah. Us P3D folk are forward looking and cutting edge. If we wanted backward compatibility we'd be using backward sims!
The wailing and weeping will start if it's US that's left behind

Yep. There is a school of though that if MS had just said "no backward compatibility" with FSX then people would have started making models using the new sim's SDK. As it was, they tried to keep everyone happy and proceeded to get moaned at from all quarters. We've now lost a great many freeware developers who probably no longer have much if any of their source code so whoever picks up the mantle now will have to start from scratch. Yes it will mean most of the aircraft I fly will no longer work, but maybe, just maybe someone out there will start making new versions which will renew enthusiasm.
