A quick trip home...

Post by DaveB »

Hi Chaps :hello:

We had a visitor on the Vanguard at Brooklands a while back who flies the A320 and A330 for Thomas Cook. He noted the snapshot on our flightdeck of a 757 we use to illustrate the differences between 'old and new'.. not that the 757 is new these days!.. and said he had a few shots at home he'd send us. Well.. it's been a while but he sent a handful of shots a couple of days ago and this one I thought you'd like to see. It was taken while he was coming back across the Pond last year. Note in the top LH corner of the MFD the GS, TAS, Wind direction and Windspeed..

The flight was apparently as smooth as silk too and needless to say, they got back home in very good time

EDIT: Here are a couple more. The first one shows a rather nasty looking bit of weather on radar.. the second shows what it looked like out of the window!

That would have been interesting for the passengers to fly through!

Must be the fastest 757 on record  The MOD should consider fitting RB211's to the Typhoon

Yeah.. his fuel consumption was pretty good too so it'd save the MOD a fortune  I think those shots are off an A330.. Tonks'll know :) When the chap saw our 757 phot, he volunteered to send us something a little more up to date

Ah that would make sense, I had a quick look at the QW757 and neither the original semi steam driven panel or the uprated full glass on look anything like those - the blue combing is also a give away

.. as is the pull out table underneath the MFD's I just noticed  I didn't note the chaps surname unfortunately so Tonks won't know if he's come across him. His first name is Tim.. that's all I know.
