I came across this very long but very interesting thread on pprune recently . It has wonderful reminiscences both of WWII days, ( wonderful pics of Fairey battles in france 1939/40 ) and also of training on Meteors in the late 40s early 50s, which I am sure will be of interest and will bring back memories ( perhaps some of them frightening ! ) to Peter McLeland . There is a hilarious account at about post 3343 of how not to overshoot in a Vulcan, and many other treasures
