It's kept outside from what I can see so it's not as if keeping it inside with limited space is an issue after the fire they had there.

...I expect the Argosy is a bit of an oddity Stateside
Some would say it's an oddity here - it's country of origin!

Shame on me I didn't even know it still existed! It's very sad, but she's too far from home and lacks 'the fame factor' that might cause a Lancaster or such-like to be brought home and saved :-( This one really will go to the scrappy I suspect. :dunno:

Kind regards

John

That makes it even more of a shame!

Yes she was, in 1991, but the company that flew her also had an ex-RAF T2 that flew again in '92 or '93.

Thanks for the pointer Chris

Interesting as I know the T2 was retired just before this one

I just checked up and it was, but sometime later did a one off charter.

Certainly at the time the prototype was retired it was the only one active.

The Britannia was another type that flew again quite a while after the last one had been retired.

In that case for a little while.

I should say that T2 also still survives.

Yes Garry, the ex Boscombe Brit was the last (think that was also '91) then XM496 became airworthy again.

You never know, the same thing could yet happen with a CL-44!
