Hi guys,

Just been watching this wonderful YouTube vid of one of my favorite ever classic Airliners, an old Convair 880. :)

I'd not seen this clip before. Just lovely watching her take off. :tunes: :tunes:

Never knew a couple had flown as recently as the 1990's. I think 1993 being the most recent. *-)

Indeed! What a dirty girl :-O

Had it been sat at Mojave for 37yrs? Must be a nail biting job for the crew flashing something up that's been stood for yonks.. regardless of how dry it is out there :worried:

Seems incredible to think that all that smoke was a common sight at airports once. Even the early Comets didn't produce anywhere near as much smoke - and that was much earlier!

Hi Eddie,

Love that video, you take these old aircraft for granted until there gone!

If i remember right the last time i saw smoking like that was in 2004 when DC8's were flying in and out of Manston Airport here in Kent and i used to see and hear them coming over my home i took some photos back then but with these digital cameras nowadays they tend to get deleted!!, i suppose we will not see anymore Tristars and i have not seen my favorite the old DC10 for a long time!

Thanks for posting,

Roger.

Reminds me of my long ago spotting days watching fully loaded KC-135A's struggling off Rwy29 at the 'Hall Image
