I have just heard this news,

A great shame, he was a very nice bloke...never know him to put anyone down as is the norm for modern comedians/actors.

He had real talent and will be sorely missed :(

A sad loss indeed,but at least we'll have the pleasure of seeing him in repeats of The Good Life :agree: EricT

The Good Life series is still running here on one of my local PBS stations (WETA-UK) but under the title "Good Neighbors" I always enjoyed Richard Briers in that series and he will be missed by many, I am sure.

He was also an excellent radio comedy/sitcom actor too. I've recently been listening to him online via BBC Radio 4 Extra in the 'Doctor at ....' series of shows.

I will miss him in all forms of entertainment. :S

Many adverts were with Richards voice overs.

Always clear and precise but never pompus.

In many ways, a national treasure and a great pity there are not many more like him
