Classic British Flight Sim

Greetings Northern Hemisphereans.
I've been watching the Moon grow from a slim C into a half disc over the last few days. From here, the "left" half is now illuminated.
In theory, you will be looking at the "right" half.
Not only that, but the crater pattern which we see would be inverted compared to your view.
Many of you may say that everybody knows that already.
I don't, so if someone would be kind enough to confirm what is in your night sky up there, I'd be pleased to hear.

yep ...the Moon is upside down to you compared to us

Also the Moon an Sun in the South to us moving let to right and in the North to ypou moving right to left

A friend of mine insisted that that in South Africa the sun rose in the West and set in the East due to the above.

It's all simple really you and I are looking at it from different sides facing each other, so to speak.

I recall walking into a car hire place at Auckland airport and being very amused to see that they had a world map with the S pole at the top but all the lettering the right way up for that orientation . I asked the man about this , and was told " it's so our Australian cousins know who's on top" !

Thanks Garry, it's how I thought, but I just had to make sure.

Probably explains why our Daughter always says that she can't see "the man in the Moon", it always looks like a rabbit to her, and I know what she means.
I'll have to take a photo of it and turn it upside down.

Oh, BTW Joe, yep, we're upside down all right, but it's nothing like the woman from Ealing, who had a peculiar feeling, that's a horse of a different coloured kettle of fish.

We just can't help winning everything, though. Black Caviar gives the World a break by retiring, only to make way for an Aussie to win the US Masters golf.
