I was at work worried about getting stuck in airshow traffic and as there was a function on at Weston Park too.. all points West were no-go areas By the time I got there though.. you'd be forgiven for thinking there'd been any events on.. typical

Getting in was a nightmare - joined the queue to get off M54 at 8:15 and got in at about 9:45!

I can imagine John. One of our drivers got stuck in traffic around those parts and lost an hour. Not sure what happened to his deliveries A cruel irony was that having been booted out an hour early yesterday afternoon to try and miss the traffic.. my first call was stuck in traffic leaving Cosford so I sat outside her house for over 40mins.. not a happy chappy Fortunately, I'd been able to do my second drop first so I had that time in hand and never ended up chasing the clock

Worst thing.. I got no 'over flys' either and I wasn't that far away!

Not surprised you didn't get any "over fly's" - all the displays seemed very tight on the field. I haven't been to a heap of displays but this seemed really good; really close up to the displays.

What I gathered from the lady who'd been stuck in traffic trying to get back, the show didn't start until late.. later than I'd have imagined anyway. Though I've been to Cosford many times, I've never been to an airshow there.. mainly Duxford and Fairford, at both of which flying starts around midday if not before.. certainly before at Fairford. I was guessing at a 5pm finish for Cosford. Not sure how close that guesstimate was but for sure.. by the time I did my first Wolverhampton call then off to Telford.. the roads were normal for a Sunday.. eg, quiet

Yes, perfect weather really; sunny but not too hot (although I've got a rather red nose today for failing to remember to put the factor umpteen on it yesterday). The flying part of the show finished at 5:30. It took us about an hour and a half to get from out pitch close to the flight line back to the M54. We'd thought about doing it by train but I'm glad we stuck to the car - the queue for the railway station looked horrendous! The flying display ran from 10:45 when the Large Model Aircraft Association kicked things pretty continuously. I kept thinking I really ought to go look at the other displays but in the end never really moved from the flight line apart from occasional visits to loos and food vans.
