I feel this is unfair as it gets compare to the normal single decker's

All double decker's are inherently ugly and as such this is not so bad and the longer one will look better.

As for earlier double deckers, even those that were not true double decks just double lobe, it is worth mentioning that as far as I know, Boeing has never apologised for the Stratocruiser.

Garry, in that case, NEVER look at a Douglas C124 Globemaster II.
As for the A380, having flown on one I'm in awe of them. The most striking thing is how quiet it is on full power along with incredible stability (take strong winds to throw that mass about).

Some single-decks are worse...the Guppy, the CL-44/O, Beluga and the 747 equivelant.

Some 'ugly' types though, are beautiful in their own way, such as the Beverley (essentially double-deck) and Argosy. I love 'em!

Ah but those were modded existing types for special purpose not designed as such.

But I said all double decker's were ugly but that's not to say single decker's are always pretty.

Ugly single decker's to me include the Boeing 207 Stratoliner, Caravelle, Comet (especially the 1 and 2) and Constellation...but not the Starliner, the new wing gave it grace.

The DC-10 and even more so the MD-11 are embarrassingly ungraceful

I'm probably in the minority in thinking the Herald better looking than the Friendship and, oh yes..the Skyvan, SD.3-30 and SD.3-60...let's not even go there

Still ugly aeroplanes have often been the best at their jobs.

The aforementioned Stratocruiser was complex, temperamental and at times down right unreliable, yet it set standards of comfort well beyond the standards of the time. As a product for passengers, which is all an airliner really is, it was very popular and not having a front end meant the type was a pilots dream even if the off prop or even whole engine dropped off now and then

PS you may notice the common factor...blunt noses, the reason I find the Superfreighter far more pleasing to the eye than the standard Bristol Freighter.

The 380 is a bit like the Stratocruiser...love it or hate it has to be accepted that new standards have been set and the punters love it.
