A few FTX Global shots

FTX Global might just be the best single add-on I've ever purchased for FSX.

The first two are en route from Edwards AFB, over the coastal mountains, to California's Pacific coast

This third one was me testing my updated copy of REX Essentials + Overdrive last night, just to see if it replicated the gloomy conditions at Cambridge - which it did quite well. Remember, this is not FTX England...its FTX Global. The time is about 20.30 hrs

Despite this, today I finally took the plunge and bought Opus Live Weather

Those screenshots look wonderful, Paul. They'd made quite a bit about how they'd made a lighting breakthrough with no frame rate hit and your third shot shows that to superb effect. You must be very pleased indeed.

As I'd mentioned in another post, this was poised to be my next purchase, specifically to fill in the bits of Alaska that weren't covered by FTX SAK. And also to extend my FlyTampa Hong Kong airport into China. But sadly, it's not to be and I have to admit to being very jealous.

The price turned out to be quite reasonable in the end, I thought. Anyway, mate, have lots of fun but don't forget that I would like to see what I'm missing so don't forget to hit that 'V' button at regular intervals for me.

Ian :)

This one is for you Ian. A late summer evening, the lights are just coming on down there...

Oh wow! Thanks, mate.

Just viewing it on the iPad so I'm not seeing the full screen but it's already giving me goose pimples. I'll fire up the laptop in the morning with a view to using the full size image as my desktop.

Ian :)

That looks very good indeed Paul. The idea of being able to improve the default FSX really appeals to me, but alas I fear that it would not be compatible with many of the bits and piece I already have and tinker with. That last shot is superb

Ben, from the forums I think they have been working on the compatibility with other sceneries, I know if you flew out of UK with their ORBX a lot of areas would be screwed. I didn't see any issues with scenery when I was outside Uk yesterday

Hi Chris, its the custom bits that i've done that would worry me. I'd like to keep my uk GenX and all the little bits i've tweaked over the years but have it on the areas that are still FSX default only. I don't think that's possible.

Ben, are you aware of the Orbx compatibility forum ?

You might find a lot of answers there. :)

Hi All,
Now that you've mentioned the "V" button - can you tell me where those shots go by default, please? I generally rely on "PrtScn" because I've never found the result of "V" :dunno:

Really good shots there, Mister! Like Ben, I'm worried about clashes. (Sorry, IIRC I already said that) :$
