Hi Gents,

I find this great that Voyager 1 has gone out of our Solar System and they said on the BBC News tonite that at 38,000 mls an hour it will be 40,000 yrs until it reaches the next star,

I think the most fascinating thing that i have seen over the years is the photo that was taken by Voyager of the Earth that was just a pinpoint of light, like the stars we see every nite,

Cheers,

Roger.

I just hope it won't be a early morning event here, cause I'm usually asleep.
I'd hate to miss it.

Saw that on the BBC E-dition of the news. I guess they are recording the noises out there and playing messages to the Martians, in multiple languages 8) just in case they speak Japanese or Italian, or something like that.

I don't get it, they claim the Oort cloud which theoretically extends some 2 light years beyond the Sun (almost 1/2 way to the nearest star). If the Oort cloud is part of our system and itself orbiting the Sun, then how can they claim that Voyager has left our system when it hasn't even reached the cloud let alone passed through it. The Oort cloud is the origin of many comets.
