Hold up there , I clicked on the New recruits VA thread to post the direct link and got a report of a malware implanted in the webpage.(Using Crome) Content from http://www.wayland-designs.co.uk, a known malware distributor etc etc
I don't want to be an alarmist but I've never gotten it before.

I'll check my browser to make sure it's up to date and report back.

Hi Joe,

Just checked for Wayland designs in the source code and the only thing is one of the members avatars. He hasn't posted since feb 2011. I can't see anything wrong with that site, but I'll remove his avatar and links as a precaution.

Cheers,

Ben.

Hi Afroditadar, you can ask a question here if you like?

This has most if not all the hallmarks of spam to me. Poor English ; ( yet purported English residence ) ; unspecific request . We get them on the Jaguar E type BB regularly and this bears a strong resemblance to the sort of thing which turns up there

My partner writes poor English yet has been living in Britain twelve years.

Some native Brits have poor English

You can't conclude anything form that.

Well, I only give the warning from experience. This poster, incidentally, has over the last 48 hours joined at least 3 unconnected websites , one of which is in Bulgaria and another of which appears to write software for inserting adware , and posted virtually identical requests to make contact with an administrator. Bearing in mind just how many sites have been hacked, isn't a little caution advisable ??

Perhaps Afrod ... clicked on the VA thread and got a similar warning I got and wss wanted to report it.
Or maybe there is something hinky going on.

Ben I'm all up to date . Interesting thing getting the warning. If I click on the thread topic (text) chrome stops the page from loading and I get the warning.
I click on the link to last page of the thread (16) I don't get the warning and the page loads.

Cheers,

Joe

It is indeed Chris. The moment we become less vigilant will be the day we disappear!

All new members get the 'once over' as a matter of course and if we don't like the look.. they're moved on. As Garry says.. poor English isn't everything but suffice to say.. we're keeping a weather eye open ;)
