Murphy applied for a fermentation operator post at a famous Irish firm based in Dublin .

A Pole applied for the same job and since both applicants had similar qualifications, they were asked to take a test by the Manager.
When the results were in, both men had scored 19 out of 20.
The manager went to Murphy and said, "Thank you for coming to the interview, but we’ve decided to give the Pole the job."
Murphy, "And why would you be doing that?"
"We both got 19 questions correct."
"This being Ireland and me being Irish surely I should get the job."
Manager, "We have made our decision not on the correct answers, but on the question you got wrong."
Murphy, "And just how would one incorrect answer be better than another?"
Manager, "Simple. On question number 7 the Pole wrote down, 'I don’t know.'
You put down 'Neither do I’.'

In my History O level in December 1959, we had 2 papers, one before lunch and one after lunch on the same day . Unfortunately the master in charge managed to open both sets of papers in the morning session, and distributed the correct paper to one half of the room, and the afternoon paper to the other half. Needless to say, those with the wrong paper quickly cottoned on , and we all wrote down the questions before the papers were hurriedly collected , and swotted them up over lunch . It was all to no avail - a few days later the afternoon paper was declared a nullity and we had to do a specially set paper all over again! [Perhaps this should be in all our yesterdays but it has a relevance here }

I was on a management course when I worked for Hotpoint, on one question paper we were told to "read all the questions carefully before answering any of them, and you have 15 minutes to complete the paper" With something like 25 questions to answer, and only 15 minutes to complete it, some people decided to start writing down the answers before reading them all.

On the very last page it said, " Don't answer any of these questions. Just write your name at the top of the first page" I'm happy to say, that having seen this one before, I knew exactly what was coming.
