Classic British Flight Sim

Hi,

I was out today and thought that the BBC Midlands would show this and the fact that the DC10 is going to be scrapped i think is Bloody awful,

I would love to know what the scrap value is nowadays for a DC10 and i wish i had the money because i would buy it she looks in good condition as it was the second to last off the production line.

Well looking on the Financial Express Biman's MD Shah Jahan said the the Boeing Museum of Flight in Seattle may have taken the aircraft but now have said they can't as they have no room for it and Bruntingthorpe did not want it,

"The DC 10 has been the workhorse of the Aviation industry for the past fifty years or so"

A. Where the hell do the BBC find these people and..
B. Why do we have to pay for this rubbish!

Saw a the end of ITV's Central news (it was the last story) and they said it was going out for spares. The engines alone were worth a quarter of a mil, they said

As for Midlands Today, I could have been watching any BBC regional news programme complete with the mandatory female weather presenter.

BBC News (or is it The Gaurdian?). No individuality, and no talent either.

I was surprised I didn't see TM in the background holding some anti-Biman plackard but TBH.. I only caught the last 30 or 40 secs of the report

There has been some confusion over where this aircraft was being retired to and why it had been allocated a US registration.

Here's why

This aircraft visited Birmingham as a part of it's delivery flight to a museum in the US. They hoped to sell seats on the Trans Atlantic for the delivery flight but permission was not granted. The aircraft was then due to make it's last revenue flight at BHX before flying empty to the States.

That fell through as the museum did not have the space so Bruntingthorpe Museum offered to take and that is where it was then destined to spend it's days.

Biman recieved an eleventh hour offer and sold all three engines and so, it's back to Bangladesh empty for part out and scrap.

They could still have flown the aircraft into Bruntingthorpe for the Museum removed the engines and still sold them and made their money i would have thought,
