Mystery Aircraft

Post by paulsl »

Well it is to me! I'm afraid this isn't a great picture but it was as good as my zoom could do. This was flying over Somerset in August last year. Is anyone able to enlighten me as to what it is?

Many thanks, Paul

Thanks Gents, that was really fast. I've been wondering about this one. I just didn't know how to Google "looks nose heavy with the tail about to fall off" 8)

Thanks again, Paul

There are a few that come into KLNA .... I really like the diesel sound. :tunes:

IRIS have one for FSX. It's spiffy.

Hi JOhn

They've updated the model. Iris call it "Aviator Series DA42"

It's spiffier

Thanks John,

that fin flash looks like it might be one of the RAF ones but I can't find anything that says they're still operating them. Somebody is - it's distinctly airborne :agree: Sadly the resolution of the picture is about as good as it's going to get. As I said it was right on the limit of the zoom on my 6mp camera.

I went to the IRIS sight but couldn't find a price. i did see this....

"This product is an artistic representation of the subject matter, which is inspired by the Diamond DA-42 Twin Star."

....so that's OK, I'm inspired to do an artistic representation of not reaching for my wallet :) I guess from your remarks that you have it and like it.
