Hi Garry,

It's a real shame when you see this happen, World Airways did used to fly into Manston and were going to do regular flights from there to the US but that fell though,

I do see Atlas air flying over and i think i'm right that it's these airlines that hauled freight etc for the US Military.

Cheers,

Roger.

Yes Atlas do a loat of military work as did World and the late Evergreen.

Many of these flight used to be by StarLifter.

I am particually saddened by this as World never play the get big quick game and keeping it's size to it's operations ensured survival when many have failed.

It seems the more recent management were not running the company as it had been in the old days according to ex employees.

One of the last MD-11 pax operators too althoiugh KLM is the last MD-11 pax operator on scheduled services.

Never saw World very often, yet, they would turn up on overflights now and then and when I saw one a week or so ago I had no idea it would be the last I'd see.

Time moves on and in doing so history is made. So much is changing. The last TriStars fading away is another recent event.

It's just sad to see something that is older than me so has always been there go for ever just a four days before it's 66th birthday.
