I challenge any one to keep a dry eye as they watch this. 40 year old Joanne Milne has been deaf since birth - after being fitted with cochlear implants, she heard sound for the first time in her life, and the moment was recorded on video.

Incredibly moving, I think.

Great story. Isn't it interesting that although deaf, when she speaks you can still hear a bit of Geordie twang in her accent.
As an aside, being a woman, she can now hear, but will she listen? ...... No? too soon?
