I mentioned in another post that it was rumoured Flybe were about to introduce a new, purple image. Ben had heard that too.
Well they have, and introduced it on April 1st

It is serious.
it was annoucenced a few days before and their rebranding as they pulled Gatwick and got on with their big shake up has been on the cards a while now.
Last month the Belfast base was the first to be issued with new purple uniforms and then it was said the aircraft would adopt a new overall purple livery, the colour being the one on the last block of colours beneath the previous version of the logo.
This aircraft was delivered to Exeter in Brussels Airlines livery a week or so ago for a repaint but Flybe refused to say what livery it was to be repainted in.
For about a week it has been assumed that this would be the one that would be painted first in the new livery if it was indeed going ahead.
It's actual appearence was expected. March the 31st was when Flybe ended Gatwick and closed the Guernsey base and some others. That means then that April 1st is the "restart" day for the airline. It's no joke, just a co-incidence.

Maybe it's a play on the old Court Line colours.
Btw, can those Dash-8s get any longer?

I'm carrying anti-sickness pills for when I have the great misfortune of seeing one.
When they said they were going purple, I imagined the blue bottom would become purple.
I never imagined they'd do this.

More story around the media are appearing and some seem to suggest this is a special livery to launch the rebranding and this is the first of several aircraft to get this look.
It's called "Spirit of Librium" which is the spirit of freedom to travel aparently.
Hopefully it will be confined to a few.
FlyBe has certainly managed to get themselves talked about, never a bad thing in buisiness, unless it's salmonella in a resteraunt
