Some CeraSim models on offer at SimMarket

The 212, 412 and 222 are all on offer at a reduced price until 12th June. I may well pick up the 222 in this sale ... wish the discount was more, but any discount on a Cera model is worth looking at.

... and the UH-60L Black Hawk is now included in the offer as well.

Dave,
I assumed that FSPS would also have them on sale but didn't check since I no longer buy from them. Looking at current exchange rates, it's only a matter of 50p or so - I'll stick with SimMarket for now. I'd have preferred to buy from FSS but they don't sell CeraSim products.
Just checked and found I have 20 repaints and an alternate FDE lined up for the 222 when I buy it next week.
Regs,
Ro

Oh yes.. I know there are a million paints for it and I already use the alternative FD. I think I have maybe 4.. I don't download every single paint available knowing that I'll never use em
Unless I looked at the wrong price for the Blackhawk.. I'm sure it was a lot more than 50p. I'll have to go and check again
EDIT: Simmarket quote £19-whatever it was I put and FSPS show £16.88GBP. You may of course not be paying VAT at Simmarket and if not, WHY NOT??
EDIT#2: You may be right Ro.. Simmarket is unobtainable at the moment. I switched from EUR to GBP and there it was gone and it won't come back
EDIT#3: Here we go.. it came back eventually
... and FSPS

Aha, so, I don't actually grab every repaint I can find either, since the included screenshots sometimes reveal issues I couldn't live with (for example, insignia upside down or mirrored text). I only keep the ones that interest me, and only until I get to see the skin in the metal (in sim).
I suppose being able to see all prices in Sterling on any website has it's uses, but I always do my own translations using a standard I know, and I've learned that my credit card exchange rate is the best one to use when paying for things with non-UK companies.
Sorry, but I neglected to say that the 50p was the difference in the price of the 222 since that's the one that I'm lining up to buy ...
Do you use the standard or alternate FDE for the Airwolf ?

Hi Ro
TBH, I use the 'Jordan Moore' FD for all. I think I've only looked at the Airwolf paint once in sim

If I fly it at all, it's either DG's RN grey or VIP paints although I have a few others.. Pan Am, NASA, a UK reg and another RN paint by Jeansy. It can still be a handful even with Jordan's FD.. with the default.. it's very lively. It's a lovely looking helicopter but truth is, I like to look at it more than I like to fly it. Let that not deter you though
I'm not sure that 20% is enough off given that I've just spent a hell of a lot over the last month on models that I will rarely fly and bought just because they were in a sale. If I were to go for any of the others, it would be the 412 as this is the one DHFS use (well, the military version). Only having one possible UK paint would limit its use for me if that makes sense

Dave,
must admit that I was recently browsing all the Cera repaints and not just the 222 ones. Some of the 412 paints are very tasty including the DHFS one you mentioned, though there's also one or two 212 paints that are rather good. I WAS thinking along the lines of maybe getting the 412 as well, but have already been reading your mind. That is, had the same thoughts about just how many of these recent purchases will get how many flights, and whether I really want to buy something just because it's on special offer at the moment. My will power finally gave way last week and I bought the Carenado 1900, which is so ugly it's beautiful. In a way, I've been regretting it since because it was at full price (despite the JF points that come with that), and I've not yet installed or flown it. I'm sure when I do my love affair with it will be rekindled, but I suspect I'll need to buy some throttles and a yoke to get the best out of it, which of course is yet more expense ...
Ho hum

It's a simple fact that we like to surround ourselves with nice things. Unfortunately, some of them are not so nice when you see them laid bare in front of you

I've recently bought the JF Martlet/Wildcat and the VS Stearman PT-17.. a fiver each in the last JF sale. The Martlet is what I expected and worth a fiver.. the PT-17 is only worth a fiver and not the £18 or whatever the full price is. In addition, there's the Virtavia Apache D plus.. just before the curtain dropped, I bagged the F-111 and B1B. When JF had the Comet and Viscount on 'sale' I bought both. I've flown the Viscount once for five minutes and the Comet twice but for 5mins all told. Dear me.. what else

Ah yes.. nearly forgot the B29 and Dauphin (the Dauphin I'd rather forget!)

I really wanted to like the Dauphin but the PK is as much use as an icicle at the North Pole. Funny.. one went over the house yesterday. They're far from common. Despite what devotee's of soundsets say, the one with the model sounds nothing like the one that flew over yesterday! There must be other things I've bought but that's enough to admit to in public
I may crack and get the Cera 412 despite my reservations (I'm not struck on their animated rotors.. they look fine stopped but not so good when in motion which defeats the object). Also.. I have 656 points worth £3.96 at FSPS but can't find where or how you cash these in. I know what the blurb says but I can't see a box to add points so I've raised a ticket. IF I can get to use these points.. the 412 will end up a foregone conclusion.. I can see it now

IF, on the other hand, I can't.. then I will take my custom elsewhere and wait for a better sale than 20% off

Cr@p innit.. if I had 656 points at JF, they'd be worth £6.56 not a crummy £3.96.
In the meantime, I'm gonna go searching my old drives in search of models I've not flown for ages so I can pretend they're new
