I've just been reading the latest issue, and they have a selection of wallpapers available for your desktop ( in the computer context, obviously ).

There's a lovely one of H.P. Halton 'Falkirk', and great one of Fairey Barracudas, amongst others.

You can you know!
Another great British design, i used to live near the RAF West Malling airfield in Kent in the late 1950's and these used to go out at 23-00 every night and they used to have a distinct howl to them, these photo's are from FS2004.

Roger, I remember seeing a Javelin at a Battle of Britain day at Cottesmore. My RAF father and my godfather ( a Shackleton pilot ) were less than complimentary about it. That memory has always coloured my perception of the aircraft, probably quite unfairly. By the way, wasn't it the all-weather interceptor that let rain leak into the cockpit ? Or is that a myth ?
Great pictures, by the way.

Ooo, a nice Gladiator pic.

It must have our Peter at the controls judging by its attitude.

Thanks for the link Paul.

Hello Paul,
I don't know about the cockpit leaking but i have read that there were problems with waterproofing the radome, which leaked in the rain, it f***up the radar; but that was soon sorted with sticky tape!
I think the old Javelin was a bit like "Marmite"

It did have the distinct disadvantage of going slower when you turned the afterburner on as the fuel pump couldn't cope with the increased demand at lower altitudes. I believe there were also issues with loop manoeuvres, they may even have been forbidden, as the wing blocked the airflow to the tailplane, you'll note no one else has made a delta with a T tail.
