From Key
KLM takes a step back in time this week as its iconic DC3 aircraft arrives in the UK for a mini-tour of England’s east coast regional airports. Its vintage airliner arrived at Newcastle International Airport from Amsterdam on June 24. It will conduct flights – for selected guests only – from Newcastle Airport on June 25, followed by Durham Tees Valley on June 26, Humberside Airport on June 27 and Norwich International Airport on June 28, 2014.
Already at Newcastle, a few days working down the coast

Yeah I caught a glimpse too, too far away to make out any markings but Knew it was a DC3. Thanks for putting my mind at rest!

In Whitby on Tuesday afternoon I heard what I thought was the growl of a radial engine but didn't see the aircraft. So pleased to read this and know it wasn't just wishful hearing. All I usually hear are helicopters or F-15s, it irks me that a foreign power has the only military aircraft I see or hear.

Drawing a blank with that link, Garry.
Yes - we get the F-15s, too , and they are the noisiest buggers around! Even made me nearly jump off my bike in fright once, even with earplugs in, under helmet. Okay, it was on the Holbeach range run-in at low altitude, but even so...

Okay - I've got it now.
The "H" is missing from the url address in the link. It reads "ttp://..." instead of "Http://..."

What a pity that the Airports International article contains such rubbish as " it was the first commercial aircraft "
