New Sim PC, or some T-6 flying.....

and the T-6 won. Flew today out of White Waltham in G-CHIA, a SNJ-5 operated by Chiltern Flight (www.thechilternclassicflight.com). Had two trips and was a wonderful experience. Couldn't have asked for a better day (cept for the 450 mile round trip!). Originally operated by the US Navy, it later saw service with the Japanese from 1956-77 and is believed to be the sole surviving airworthy JASDF T-6 variant.

I hadn't flown a T-6 for 13 years, but was told that I handled it quite well, due to that time lapse. Hope its not going to be another 13 years before the next one.

The Bump? Think the whole airfield was covered in 'bumps' judging by the sound the tailwheel was making as we taxiied to and through. But not as bad as Sandown or Compton Abbas.

Still feeling a happy chappy and looking forward to three more now. 2 new for me (at Duxford and Goodwood) and 1 my all time favourite (at Biggin Hill). That then puts me at 13 Harvards flown in (all in the UK), but then suppose will have to fly another one although am not superstitious! :)

Cheers,

Martin

Bump , Compton Abbas has a bump ?........... Never it's just that N Daarset's keeping the ski jump technology alive 'til the new carriers are in service . The wet bits of winter have dried out and the chalk hilltop has hardened ; but it sure does catapult you into the air. Us residents love it, but not sure the students do .
Went into Sandown last week , and hugh improvements are in evidence . Do go back it's on the up and Carla's Bacon butties are the best .
