Well, why not? Although if he actually turns the oven on he will have melted plastic protractor.

That was the flaw in the recipe I saw .. he should have used a metal one.

BTW, the protractor won't be melting, he's already done the 140 degrees bit.

I showed this to the wife and she agreed adding 'the list of instructions I have to give you when I ask you to cook something is getting longer'! How rude!
