Hi all,
I'm a bit obsessed with the topic at present, as I have recently acquired a real Type G45 gun camera for AFV.
I haven't yet hooked it up to 24 volt power to check whether the motor is still working, but everything seems to be intact.

Interesting. That would be great if you could find the history of the camera by researching its serial number. :)

I used the G45 camera on Vampire 5s at 229 OCU Chivenor in 1952. Its use was superceded by the Gyro Gunsight Camera which clipped onto the top of the GGS and looked down vertically into the sight. The beauty of it was that it saw what the pilot saw but with the moving gunsight graticule also visible on the film.
