The first two pictures are of the Eclipse, but the second two pictures are of the New Moon, only 1 day 9 hours and 30 minutes after the eclipse and shows the faint Earthlight dimly illuminating the dark part. It is the Newest Moon that I have ever seen and photographed. Remember the bright bits on the first two pics are the Sun, but the bright bits on the second two pics are the Moon, lit by the Sun which has set and is below the horizon.
The final picture is the planet, Venus which the New Moon will move closer to in the sky over the next day or two... Click to see Full Size!

You know him well Mike  For my part.. the eclipse was pretty uneventful. I didn't have the benefit of any 'anti-blindness' viewing equipment and what little remained was far too bright to look at with naked peepers! Here.. it looked like a bright sun with a slightly dimmer than normal day.

Well no!...My wonderful watch doesn't take pictures, Mike

Dave, I wasn't too fussed about the Eclipse but I was very pleased to get the ones of the very young New Moon with the Earthlight. A picture this evening or tomorrow evening with Venus close by will be nice to get :agree:

Nature provided the 'Anti-blindness' equipment here in the east - thick cloud :(

Very interesting that both photos of Venus show the phase. Also, the penumbra of the new moon is fantastic . Great pics Peter and Airboatr, thank you

I tried to photo the eclipse , but I didn't stop it down enough and got a very bright blur, even using my welding helmet !
