'Total War' games

I was just wondering if anyone here owns any of the Total War series of games, by The Creative Assembly. I own the original Shogun and Rome, Shogun 2, Rome 2 and Medieval 2 ( Kingdoms ). Rome 2 is under £8 on Steam and I bought it last week, but since then I've reinstalled the much older Medieval 2 and am relearning it. Thoroughly enjoying myself - it is post-1066, and the Normans are fanning out over England. Rufus , William the Conqueror's heir, is in north Wales laying siege to a rebel fortification there, and I'm keeping tabs on the Scots, who will be my next target of conquest.
It makes a nice change from flight simming - anybody else playing a Total War game ?

Yes, I've hated European wasps since I was a kid.
This season, I'm using a plastic spray bottle filled with methylated spirits, combined with a long nozzled gas lighter.
It's total war on wasps, and a totally immersive game.

Well, folks, it all depends on your point of view, whether it's on or off topic.
Admittedly, I took a bit of poetic licence with the words, but:
I'd never even heard of the "Total War" series of games.
However, I am conducting Total War on European wasps.
They were bad enough when I lived in the UK, but here, they're an introduced species that is well known for killing native bees (NB Alex).
I can buy methylated spirits at $13.00 for 4 litres, making it a lot cheaper than fly spray.
More expensive than petrol, but petrol burns too hot.
Methylated spirits burns with a relatively cool flame, so the chances of setting the whole place alight are minimised.
When a wasp comes in range, it's a matter of light the gas lighter, hit the trigger on the spray bottle, and the target is enveloped in a cloud of flame. Goodnight nurse.
Sorry, Paul, but at least you got a response from me....not a soul has commented on your true topic yet.
In keeping with my sense of fair play, I'll look at the series on the net. Keep in mind that I still have an installed copy of Red Alert, and in the museum is the Eastern Front disc, which I never really got engaged with.

OK, from what I've seen, it's not my style.
It's described as 'turn based', and there are lists of clans to join.
SOUNDS like you need to play on line?
I prefer solo against the computer's AI.
From what I've seen of my Grandsons playing combat on line, it's hard to learn, because when you walk into a space, there are experienced players already there to cut you down before you know what's going on.
I'll shut up now.
