NZQN approach

Known as the land of the long white cloud, if you fly into New Zealand you could well encounter this scenario. Hold on to your seat.

This is the descent into Queenstown, notice the mountain range he is flying toward.

It must take great faith in your instruments to pilot an approach like this, but the rush must be amazing.

Great video. :agree:

I've flown into that airport many times in both FS2004 and FSX and it's a lot of fun. I've even launched gliders off the mountain top to the right when the plane stops and got down onto the runway easily, you just need to place a glider on the slope (using slew) and it will start to roll downhill until it gets up to flying speed. There was one evening a few of us were playing there in multi-player and a buddy was in a Piper Cub and we both launched off the mountain top and I beat him to the airport in a glider!

With the mountain in front I was rather pleased to see that the aircraft made a right turn just before entering cloud. Will have to try that approach when I get home in VMC conditions first!! :worried:

Thanks for posting that one George.

Good find George!
Thanks for sharing.
You know, FS is looking so good these days, it's hard to tell what's real and what's FS.
First time i ran it, at the first bank to the right, the screen went black, music stopped.
Then the power came back on! The blighters seem unable to switch up to meet the rising evening demand without a couple of seconds power out.
You may want to edit your post, unless they did in fact move Queensland to New Zealand while we weren't looking.
