No it goes to the article describing how Israeli air force used Balair C-97s to do lots of rescue missions in Africa. Try it again and scroll down. Maybe you just see top advertising banners. Just ignore the top advertising banners and scroll down to the article.cstorey wrote:The link which was posted appears to direct me to some sort of political website

I was testing an Orbx Vector update today, and flew west from Davis Monthan towards California. That's the Colorado river down there, with lakes Ferguson and Martinez. I'm still very much enjoying the C-97 !

I have far too many models I don't fly and the C-97 is one

Well yes, you can't fly all of the planes all of the time, but the C-97 is a firm favourite, and fills my four-engined prop needs nicely. I wish he'd do a B-29 too.DaveB wrote:I have far too many models I don't fly and the C-97 is one

Do you not care for the Virtavia/ex-Alpha B-29? It's not a bad looking model though I have to admit, I've probably flown it no more than 3 times If ANYTHING I have makes it past 3 flights.. it's doing well. Some don't even get that far

The Virtavia B-29's VC/flight deck is far and away the best one they've ever done, but there are niggles with the external model. I exchanged a few emails with Manfred around the time he started the C-97 and the idea of him doing a Superfortress did arise. It would have been nice if he could have tweaked the Virtavia one for them - whether he ever made the offer, or had the offer rejected - I don't know. I still hold out hope.

While we're on the subject of Manfred Jahn, and in the wake of Peter McC's RTW trip, I did a little flying in the Alice Springs area this morning.
