Joystick Rudder Problem

Post by RobDob »

Good morning all

I have a Cyborg X joystick and a few months ago I had a problem where randomly it would go to full right rudder while flying. Not ideal!

I presumed this was a technical problem with the joystick so I bought an identical replacement cheaply off eBay.......'problem solved' I thought. Nope! Same problem!

Now I'm not sure whats best to try next......is it a possible coincidence that BOTH joysticks have the same fault? Or could it be an issue with my installation with FSX?

I've tried the obvious recalibration time and time again with no success.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?! It's very frustrating!!

The other issue I have is I do not have a different joystick to try. I live in the Middle East and there are no shops that sell them, so to get new kit I have to wait until I visit the UK as shipping isn't cheap!

Cheers

Rob

Have you double-checked your assignments? There may be something else set up for rudder that's interfering.
Are you assigning & calibrating in FSX directly, or via FSUIPC?

Hi Dave

I've tried calibrating through FSX and windows itself; same problem. Not tried through FSUIPC yet.......only installed that today so will take a look. I'll also check double check the assignments now........

Cheers

Well......I removed any key assignments for rudder; no success.

I had a look at FSUIPC in the sim, but can't see where to calibrate the joystick?

Are you flying an unmodified 737?

Sorry , not a lot of help, although my Cyborg has a bit of slack in it & I think the potentiometer is dodgy. I now have a Logitech Extreme 3d pro & only sometimes use the Cyborg on my laptop if I'm away from home.

It happens whatever I fly!!

Don't want to buy another joystick in case its a software issue.......want to avoid a re-install of FSX too!

Got FSUIPC....followed the frooglesim guide.........same problem! Random full right rudder! :wall: :( :help:

Do I reinstall FSX.......which will be a slow and painful process.......or gamble with getting another new joystick!?!? *-)

Or borrow a joystick from someone to see if you get the same issue ;)
