Fair weather for a big day out, Toby.
Did you cross the Channel especially for the show, or take the opportunity whilst there?
No need to apologise for clarity like that - jolly good shots, and thanks for posting.
I see that the tickets are in my price range, too!

Indeed
I think the RN need to reconsider the sizing of their logo on the Sea King.. I could barely make it out

Thanks for the comments guys. Mike - I come back over to the south coast to visit my parents and take some holidays but I "adjusted" the time frame to be a bit later in order to be able to go to this. I chipped some money to the VTTS/XH558 late last year and consider to have paid my entry to the airshow (which as is someone pointed out, actually free).
DaveB & Sketchy - I think the large RN logo is for exactly this reason. I've never quite figured out how SAR/Rescue/Lifeguarding/Coastguarding actually works in the UK having seen helicopters apparently providing this service in RAF, RN and Coastguard liveries and as can be seen here, liaising with the RNLI. I am now told it's being outsourced and I am not sure what that really means in practice. I hope that doesn't mean it will now be based in Asia, that wouldn't be very convenient!

No.. and you'd have trouble with communications too!!
I think 'out sourced' points to Bristow and Bond.. especially Bristow. That still makes it comparatively 'local' but the days of the RN and RAF doing this role are now few. Damned shame if you ask me but there you go

Lovely photos Toby. I like the Seagull, but don't they normally operate in formation as a team?
