XR808 is complete again

Post by Archer »

RAF Museum has put out an announcement that the rebuild of XR808 at Cosford is now complete and the aircraft is officially on public display. Looks like I'll have to plan a visit now

Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

Lovely! A VC10 where a VC10 used to be, parked next to a Herc, where the (similar) Belfast used to be. Still room for a...Voyager in the future? - Where the (almost similar) 707 used to be.

You're right, it does seem similar. But the main difference is that the aircraft are now owned by the RAFM and they don't need to wait for BA to send out some apprentices to do the maintenance.
